Creating WV Criminal and Civil Forfeiture Act
The purpose of this resolution is to provide an alternative method of calculating the homestead exemption based on the average cost or value of the residential property by county. The exemption may never be less than $20,000.
Relating to motor vehicle valuation for ad valorem property tax purposes
The purpose of this bill is to clarify that an insured driver of a motor vehicle is covered by the driver’s auto insurance policy when renting or leasing a vehicle. If the renter of a vehicle does not have auto insurance coverage, the rental or leasing car company is the provider of security. Strike-through indicates language that would be stricken from the present law, and underscoring indicates new language that would be added.
The purpose of this bill is to apply the residential solar energy tax credit of up to $2,000 to each installation of a solar energy system. The bill extends the tax credit until July 1, 2023.
Relating to municipal ordinance compliance regarding dwellings unfit for habitation and vacant buildings and properties
The purpose of this bill is to require the West Virginia Parkways, Economic Development and Tourism Authority to transfer one half of one per cent of the gross revenues it receives from operating the highway formerly known as the West Virginia Turnpike to the county commissions where the highway is located. The bill identifies those counties as Kanawha, Fayette, Raleigh and Mercer. The bill also removes obsolete language.
