Citing this act as “Miya’s Law”; requiring landlords of nontransient or transient apartments to require employees to undergo background screenings as a condition of employment; revising what constitutes reasonable notice for repairs of dwelling units; requiring public lodging establishments licensed as nontransient or transient apartments to take certain actions relating to employee background screenings and keys for dwelling units; prohibiting an operator of a public lodging establishment from offering an hourly rate for an accommodation, etc.
Requiring the Department of Children and Families to create a voluntary certification program for recovery residences; requiring the department to approve credentialing entities to develop and administer the certification program; requiring background screening of employees of a recovery residence; providing for denial, suspension, or revocation of certification; directing the department to approve at least one credentialing entity by a specified date to develop and administer the certification program; requiring the department to publish the list on its website, etc.
Creating the task force adjunct to the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for a specified purpose; providing for the membership and duties of the task force; requiring the department to provide staffing and administrative support to the task force; requiring the task force to submit a report to certain officials by a specified date, etc,
Revising the definition of the term “online notarization”; clarifying that supervising the witnessing of an electronic record by an online notary public is a notarial act; revising the statutory form for an affidavit for acceptance of and reliance upon a power of attorney to reflect means of notarization; revising the form for a petition of summary relief for the sale or transfer of certain property owned by an absentee to reflect means of notarization, etc.
Requiring the clerk of the court to transmit certified copies of the disposition of criminal history records for criminal cases disposed of before a certain date to the Department of Law Enforcement on a specified schedule; providing that transmission of the certified copy to the department seals the criminal history record, etc.
